In conjunction with Red Pumpkin, ultimart.com is offering the never seen before exclusive Power of the Jedi "e-tailer" 4-pack that was destined to be a Fan Club exclusive, but never quite made it due to the change of ownership. The e-tailer 4-pack consist Anakin Mechanic, Maul Final Duel, R2-D2 Naboo Escape and Obi-Wan Kenobi Jedi on POTJ cards. The interesting thing is that although these are .0100 cards, the batch number is earlier than those batch numbers found on .0000 cards; draw your own conclusions from that!

To kick things off, Red Pumpkin have generously donated a set for ultimart.com to give away in a prize draw. You have to answer one simple question and e-mail the answer to competition@ultimart.com  See www.ultimart.com for more information. There is only a very limited number of these things available only through www.ultimart.com (just over 100 packs in all) so you will have to be quick.

In an attempt to deter scalpers, any orders for more than 3 of these will have to be accompanied with an explanation, sorry, but we want as many people as possible to be given a chance. The price for these items is £15.00 GBP which is approximately $21.00 USD

From StarWars.com at http://www.starwars.com/episode-i/news/2001/06/news20010615.html

Copyright Reminder
June 15, 2001

There has been a lot of attention paid recently to unauthorized edits of The Phantom Menace. While we appreciate fan enthusiasm in general, creating,
duplicating and/or distributing any edited version of a Star Wars film is clear copyright infringement and is illegal.

All in relation to this story that was submitted to us by Zap2It.com:

A mysterious new, re-edited version of George Lucas' "Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace" has been circulating around Los Angeles lately and it's beginning to cause quite a stir among fans on the Internet who are clamoring to get their hands on a copy.

The new re-edited version cuts out about 20 minutes from the film, with the end result being that the film comes across much tighter. (For the most part, it's stuff pertaining to the Jar Jar Binks and Anakin Skywalker characters that got cut out.)

"The Phantom Edit" - as it's called - is a highly professional re-edit of the popular film that fans love to hate. We've got the exclusive story, with quotes from Lucasfilm, a local comic book shop owner who is playing the tape for his customers and even Lucas himself.

Thought you might want to link to them...

pushpinpurple.gif (596 bytes)SSWS Announces its First Fan Film Production

1). Fan Film Update
After a long and difficult process, the film selection committee picked the First of the fan films the SSWS will produce. "It was a very difficult choice, with six excellent scripts being submitted. But in the end, one was chosen that truely represents what the Seattle Star Wars Society is all about, having fun in Seattle with a Star Wars spin." says Adam Jansen, Film selection committee chairman.

Cassandra Wallender penned the winning script "Star Wars XVII: Star Battle in Seattle," a humorous piece set in Seattle that has it all, the space needle, double tall skinny non-fats, Seattle's finest, Bill Gates and lightsabers -- what more do you need?

We wish to thank everyone who submitted a script, they were a very enjoyable read. Special mention goes to Casey Frank, our other finalist, and Jason David for his excellent historical research into the Star Wars Universe.

2). Last Call for Volunteer Positions
Now that the script has been chosen, we must start to fill in all the support staff to make this work! If there is something you want to do to make this the best fan film ever, send your resume to jedimaster@seattlestarwars.com. We are looking for editors, lighting, sound, costumes, 3d effects, and any other position you can convince us will make this film better!

ATTENTION ACTORS: Open auditions for the parts in this film will happen in July, so look for the notice to come out.

3). If you or your company would like to sponsor this highly marketable endeavor, please contact John at GoldLeader@SeattleStarWars.com

Seattle Star Wars Fan Day

Come join us at the Cinerama on Saturday May 19th starting at 1000am to help us celebrate our fans days! This is a day for the fans. We have seen the movies, read the books, and scoured the internet for the latest and greatest. Now it is our time to be PART of the story. To wield a mighty lightsaber in the defense of good, to command grand armies in service to  the Empire. To help us out with this, Wizards of the Coast will be on site to help us learn how to play the Star Wars Roleplaying game and win some fantastic prizes. Decipher will be on site to teach all three of their Star Wars Collectable Card games. After you learn how to play join in on one of our mini campaigns that will last throughout the day. We'll have food, prizes and a dunk tank to dunk some of your favorite (or unfavorite Star Wars characters)

See you there!
