Also known as "It's amazing what you can do
when you're offended"
The images on this page came about as a direct
result of me going in a bit of a huff after reading one of the messages posted on the
TSML. I have no doubt that the message wasn't directed at me personally, but it was
enough to make me sit up and take notice.
So I decided to let my imagination lead me, and see
where it went. These images are still a work in progress just now, and various
versions are offered for critique.
The interpretation is left open at the moment, I'll
add my intent later.

This is the
bare bones of the scene, with shadow maps enabled for the lights and ray-tracing and
anti-alias enabled for the render. |
 |
The same
scene, but with ray-tracing enabled instead of shadow maps and with ray-tracing and
anti-alias enabled for the render. |
 |
This is the
scene a little further along, with ray-traced lights, but with ray-tracing disabled and
anti-alias enabled for the render. The only objects which aren't mine, are the books
and the chair, which were downloaded from the 3d Source website and converted to .cob
format. |
 |
The same as
above, except that ray-tracing was enabled for the render. |

This was an
experiment in negative light. The only difference to the two previous images is the
local light at the edge of the scene was set to a negative number. |
